The Smiths Falls Gordon Pipe & Drum Band was formed in 1996 under the direction of the late Mel Roger and Bill Orr. We wear the Ancient Gordon tartan. The band's emblem, which is emblazoned on the bass drum, incorporates the Stag's Head from the Clan Gordon Coat of Arms and the Waterfall Logo from the Township of Smiths Falls. The colours are from the Gordon Tartan: green, blue, gold and black.
In the summer of 2008, the Smiths Falls Gordon Pipe Band received a grant from the Trillium Foundation of Ontario to purchase uniform items and instruments.
The Pipe Major is Steve Brooke and has lead the band since 2002. The Drum Sergeant is Shaun Melnyk.
Our
band is a strong community organization with a focus on fun, camaraderie and
quality of performance. The band performs at competitions
and parades throughout
We are a not-for-profit organization and do not have any sponsors. All band members donate their time. Money earned from our performances is invested back into the band to buy uniforms and supplies.
